I am constantly trying to learn new things to impress my friends, and to further my own personal development. I speak four languages (though only two of them well), and have taken art and voice lessons. I will be honest, I have put a lot of effort into becoming a passable artist and singer, and haven’t been very successful with either.

I spent a fair bit of money on those hobbies too. Art and singing lessons aren’t cheap in America. Learning Japanese was pretty expensive too.So I was pretty excited when I found this website. It’s a directory of free web-based courses. There are language courses available, including French, Chinese, Hindi, Russian and Korean. There are university courses from such prestigious universities as Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon and MIT. There are even eBook websites where you can download your favorite public domain and creative commons license literature.
